The Lady Tigers beat Mississippi State


LSU ( 18-10) squared off against Mississippi State (22-9) In the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference tournment. Allison Hightower scored 23 points to lead the Lady Tigers over the Mississippi State Bulldogs 63-58.


LSU went on a 10-2 run, that included two Hightower jump shots, that built LSU's lead to 44-28 with 12:08 left. But Mississippi State closed the gap to 57-54 late in the game behind two free throws by Alexis Rack. Rack set a school record for 3-pointers in a single season with her 83rd 3 of the year.


Latear Eason of LSU was taken off the court in the first half after hitting the court hard under the Mississippi State basket. Eason had movement but complained of neck pain. LSU officials said Eason was taken to a local hospital for neck X-rays.


The Lady Tigers will play Vanderbilt Saturday night @ 8 p.m. Vandy beat Georgia 69-61, the winner of this game will face the winner of the Aurburn - Tennessee game Sunday night @ 6:30 p.m.
